The Ind4.0 first Study visit was held virtually via ZOOM due to COVID 9 pandemic facilitated by Hellenic Open University (HOU).
The aim was to provide a platform to exchange the knowledge and good practices of Industry 4.0 related postgraduate courses in EU Higher Education Institutions and decide on core aspects of the Industry 4.0 curriculum. There was a total of 54 participants with at least 5 from each Asian partners. On the first day of the workshop, there were presentation of educational models for teaching MSc courses and presentation of existing curricula. On the second day, the proposed structure of the curriculum designed was presented. The workshop discussed and brainstormed to finalize the number of core, electives and orientation courses in three semesters. The 3 orientation application areas were decided to focus on Sustainable Product Design & Manufacturing, Agriculture/aquaculture System Design and Biosensors in Pervasive Health with 3 courses each. On the third day, after a briefing on the Course Description Template, the participants were organized into working groups according to their specialties and interests into 4 parallel breakout rooms in ZOOM. Each working group with a coordinator from the European programme partners proceeded to drafting the high-level description of allocated courses using the Course Description Template that included educational goals, duration, laboratories, content, textbook, teaching, and assessment methods. After a short break, all participants reconvened in the main room for concluding remarks and future work planning. The Virtual visit ended fruitfully where all the aims for the visit were achieved.
