The Universitas Syiah Kuala team participated in the international conference ICoBTA-IR4.0 (1st International Conference on Business and Technological Advances in Industry Revolution 4.0) which was located in Sarawak, Malaysia.
The conference, which will be held on 3-4 October 2023, is entitled "Industrial Revolution 4.0: Challenges for Sustainable Future". This activity was directly opened by the Premier of Sarawak, namely Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg. USK presented two scientific articles, specifically in the field of artificial intelligence. The first article was entitled "Impact Analysis of CLAHE and UM Based Image Quality Improvement on Diabetic Retinopathy Disease Classification" which was presented by Dr. Ir. Kahlil, S.T., M.Eng. represent the team. Dr. Kahlil said that this research was initiated by Nurul Muthmainnah, S.T. (Computer Engineering student, USK) in improving image quality before processing through artificial intelligence algorithms. The results obtained are that the image quality has been improved and is able to produce better accuracy, especially in detecting diabetic retinopathy. Meanwhile, the second article entitled "A Preliminary Results of a Deep Learning Model for Classifying Watermelon Sweetness Through Field Spot Detection" was presented by Ir. Rahmad Dawood, S.Kom represented the team. This research was initiated by Ir. Rahmad Dawood, S.Kom and aims to build a dataset of watermelon images and build a deep learning model to classify the quality of sweetness or not based on visual appearances such as field spots.
Apart from the conference, the USK team also took part in the closing of the Erasmus+ Ind4.0 project which had been implemented for three years. The USK team that attended this event consisted of the Erasmus+ Coordinator at USK Prof. Dr. Ir. Samadi, M.Sc, Director of USK Postgraduate School, Prof. Dr. Hizir, Chairman of UPT. USK Integrated Lab/Computer Engineering Lecturer, Ir. Rahmad Dawood, S.Kom, and Coordinator of the USK Computer Engineering Study Program, Dr. Ir. Kahlil, S.T., M.Eng. Apart from USK, there were also participants from various countries including; Malaysia consists of Universiti Teknologi Mara, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Universiti Kuala Lumpur, from Cambodia consists of the University of Heng Samrin Thbongkhmum, University of Battambang and Mean Chey University.
